Hunterian Museum

The Royal College of Surgeon

The Hunterian Museum houses one of the oldest collections of anatomical, pathological and zoological specimens in the UK. Both fascinating and gruesome, this museum is a true hidden gem in London. With its collection of bizarre and unusual anatomical things you have everything from two headed cats to a collection of human genetalia. Nothing more real!

The museum is free but unfortunately will be closed till 2020 while the Royal College of Surgeons building is redeveloped.

Did you know that early surgeons did not require a medical degree to become a surgeon? Surgeons became qualified by attending lectures and serving apprenticeships before gaining a diploma. A medical degree only became compulsory in the 20th century.

Whitechapel Bell Foundry

Have You Heard about Big Ben?

If you know a tiny bit of London history you should know that the north clock tower ( also known as Elizabeth Tower) at the Houses of Parliament has got a Great Bell called Big Ben! The Whitechapel Bell Foundry, 20 minutes by walk from Park Villa, is notable for being the original manufacturer of Big Ben. You won’t be able to visit the foundry anymore but It’s worth to see if you are in the neighbourhood. It’s funny how few people can actually relate that yellow shop on Whitechapel Road to the famous Big Ben.

Deep Purple

Deep Purple, one of the most iconic bands ever, have today announced a new tour in support of new studio album ‘inFinite’, released in early 2017. The band will be performing at The O2 on Thursday 23 November 2017, with special guests, Europe. Stay with us at Park Villa in Mile End and enjoy this amazing concert of Deep Purple!

Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Steve Morse and Don Airey, Mark VIII of the band, continue to travel the scope of hard rock — the textures and nuances of recent works are anything but thudding retreads. If you set a random play setting for the band’s entire catalogue, the result is one of the finest musical outputs to grace rock music.

Having amassed so many songs that get coined under the “classic” moniker, setlists have been a never-ending debate among diehards and newer fans especially with the most recent album ‘NOW WHAT?!’ The Number one Gold Status and top ten album across the globe. The last chapter of a career strong of over 120.000 million albums sold, it has sold to date over half a million copies and the band have sold over a million concert tickets since its release alone. The band’s videos “From the Setting Sun in wacken” and “To the Rising Sun in Tokyo” charted on the same day at 1 and 2 in UK’s music video charts proving the fascination the band’s shows have on their audience.

The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic

An exhibition dedicated to Cornwall’s most magical Museum. The exhibition will feature haunting photographs of haunted objects from Of Shadows: One Hundred Objects from The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic by Sara Hannant and Simon Costin and a bewildering mix of magical objects including a Witch Mirror, a waxen curse poppet, spells and charms and items from a Black Magicians altar.

This exhibition will start on November the 2nd till the end of February in The Last Tuesday Society, a very cool bar and museum. The place is near Victoria Park, so it’s just a few minutes walk from Park Villa, at Mile End.

Gorillaz

Gorillaz Bring Humanz Tour To The O2

It is no underestimation to say that the return of Gorillaz has been feverishly anticipated and at the end of this year they return home to play The O2 Arena on the 4 and 5 December 2017.

Following on from a secret London show in March – described by Time Out London as ‘’Flat-out one of the greatest gigs we’ve seen in a whole heap of years.’’ – the World’s Most Successful Virtual Act will hit the road across Europe this autumn, and if recent history is anything to go by, these will go just as quickly.

Tickets to their US live dates sold out in the blink of an eye last month so I guess you better be quick and book your ticket for the greatest gig you will see before 2018! Park Villa is in Mile End close by The O2, why don’t you stay with us?

Depeche Mode

Can’t Get Enough!

Following their incredible, sold-out homecoming show, Depeche Mode announced that they will return to the UK later this year, stopping at The O2 on Wednesday 22 November 2017.

While their recent homecoming show was the only UK stop on this summer’s stadium leg of the Global Spirit Tour, these new dates will give the band the opportunity to play to fans elsewhere in the UK, to see the tour that critics have hailed as a “sensational triumph” and the band Mixmag describes as “apocalyptically thrilling on the live stage.”
