The Blues Kitchen Shoreditch

London’s Very Own Home of BBQ, Blues & Rock’n’Roll

Blues Kitchen is definitely one of my to-go-place when I want to dance in Shoreditch. They have a restaurant and a late night bar serving nice cocktails and they host the best blues in London. Cool live-band music, colourful cocktails, great American BBQ classic/New Orleans soul food will be the perfect mix to start your evening.

If you wanna try their cuisine be sure to book in advance as the restaurant gets really packed on weekends. The bar and music will stop before 3 am.

The Palm Tree

Much-loved East London Pub The Palm Tree

The Palm Tree is a middle-of-nowhere Mile End venue for something money can’t buy – a Cockney experience!

Its canalside position is appealing to summer strollers, but it’s the evening vibe that’s the real draw. There’s often a live band, and since there are no neighbours within shouting distance, late-night knees-ups often get lairy.

It’s just so refreshing to visit somewhere with a distinct lack of hipsters. That is a place to go if you are tired of trendy and hipster over-crowded areas and wish to experience the true east-ender late night.

N.B : Take some cash with you as they’ve never had any card machine.

The Lauriston Pub

Victoria Park Night Out

Casual brick-walled pub with stone-baked pizza menu (and local delivery), live gigs and weekend DJs. Just footsteps away from the beautiful Victoria Park, The Lauriston can be found in the heart of Victoria Park Village. With its array of boutiques, gift shops, café, fantastic restaurants and much more.

If you are looking for chilled Friday or Saturday evening this the place to go. Their pizzas are nice for a good value and their staff is super friendly. That’s 10 minutes walk from Park Villa. Fun and relaxing.

The Hemingway

Gastro Jazzie Pub

The Hemingway is a great Hackney gastropub serving British meals made with locally-sourced ingredients.

They have taken a beautiful old building and given it a very stylish hunter’s lodge theme, literally covering every wall with taxidermy. Despite the resurgence of taxidermy these days, they have managed to bypass looking ‘trendy’ and have decided on a much more traditional theme, more Scottish Highlands than Shoreditch. The food is excellent – creative gastro pub stuff, not too expensive – and the bar is well stocked with plenty for the connoisseur.

Do yourself a favour and go to this place for a Sunday evening roast or for a stunning beef wellington to share.

The Victoria

Mile End Pub

You will spot The Victoria with its striped awning outside on your way to Victoria Park. It’s a great place to be on weekdays and weekends.

Not your average pub. There are vintage jumble sales at the weekend and during the day one corner of the pub transforms into a hair salon. Weird and amazing clutter decorates the walls, (please have a look at the stuffed squirrels behind the bar) and there’s a little stage which often showcases up and coming Dj’s and bands. If you are looking for a warm and feel-like-home atmosphere that a corner worth to stop.

Whitechapel Bell Foundry

Have You Heard about Big Ben?

If you know a tiny bit of London history you should know that the north clock tower ( also known as Elizabeth Tower) at the Houses of Parliament has got a Great Bell called Big Ben! The Whitechapel Bell Foundry, 20 minutes by walk from Park Villa, is notable for being the original manufacturer of Big Ben. You won’t be able to visit the foundry anymore but It’s worth to see if you are in the neighbourhood. It’s funny how few people can actually relate that yellow shop on Whitechapel Road to the famous Big Ben.

Museum of London

Get Lost Through London History

The Museum of London document you the history of London from prehistoric to modern times. You will also be able to have a look on the London wall as it is build on it.

Tourist, family day out, academic… etc permanent (free) and temporary exhibitions will please everybody. There are loads of interactive activities where you are 100% sure to learn thousands of facts and hidden gems about London.

From the galleries devoted to pre-historic London to the time of the Roman conquests to Henry VIII to the Beatles – everything is covered here. A fascinating show of photographs of modern-day Londoners is displayed on the undulating walls outside the museum. But the very best part is the surrealistic feeling you will get going through antics surrounded by a really modern neighbour.

You cannot say you know London if you haven’t stopped there before!

The Greedy Cow

Serious about Burgers

The Greedy Cow in Mile End was created by two brothers with discerning tastes, a love of good food and a strong belief in value for money. This is mainly what you should expect from it.

The chef prepares all the original classics with the usual adornments – such as the classic burger, cooked medium and served in a soft sourdough bun with beef tomato and sliced red onions, and the sirloin steak, aged for 21 days to ensure a tender, flavoursome result – while more exotic meats keep the menu fresh and exciting. Wagyu, kangaroo, bison and crocodile are turned into classic burger in Greedy Cow, and it’s worth to try!

Otherwise I would definitely recommend their bar and their selection of beers (made in Brick Lane), it’s a place where going by yourself won’t matter as their staff is always friendly and chatty 😉

Deep Purple

Deep Purple, one of the most iconic bands ever, have today announced a new tour in support of new studio album ‘inFinite’, released in early 2017. The band will be performing at The O2 on Thursday 23 November 2017, with special guests, Europe. Stay with us at Park Villa in Mile End and enjoy this amazing concert of Deep Purple!

Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Steve Morse and Don Airey, Mark VIII of the band, continue to travel the scope of hard rock — the textures and nuances of recent works are anything but thudding retreads. If you set a random play setting for the band’s entire catalogue, the result is one of the finest musical outputs to grace rock music.

Having amassed so many songs that get coined under the “classic” moniker, setlists have been a never-ending debate among diehards and newer fans especially with the most recent album ‘NOW WHAT?!’ The Number one Gold Status and top ten album across the globe. The last chapter of a career strong of over 120.000 million albums sold, it has sold to date over half a million copies and the band have sold over a million concert tickets since its release alone. The band’s videos “From the Setting Sun in wacken” and “To the Rising Sun in Tokyo” charted on the same day at 1 and 2 in UK’s music video charts proving the fascination the band’s shows have on their audience.

The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic

An exhibition dedicated to Cornwall’s most magical Museum. The exhibition will feature haunting photographs of haunted objects from Of Shadows: One Hundred Objects from The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic by Sara Hannant and Simon Costin and a bewildering mix of magical objects including a Witch Mirror, a waxen curse poppet, spells and charms and items from a Black Magicians altar.

This exhibition will start on November the 2nd till the end of February in The Last Tuesday Society, a very cool bar and museum. The place is near Victoria Park, so it’s just a few minutes walk from Park Villa, at Mile End.
